Yacht Delivery
1. Yacht Delivery without the owner
Undertaken in the most expeditious and efficient manner with due regard for weather and other influences, transport costs, etc.
2. Yacht Delivery with the owner As above but, if required, now additionally taking advantage of the time spent with the owner to undergo:
- Boat Operation: An underway acquaint for the owner on operation of things directly related to the boat: rigging, sail trim, electricity generation, handling of black water (sewage), making fresh water, maintenance etc
- Instruction: Underway Instruction in broader aspects of boating:
- Navigation, Chart Plotters, Apps etc
- Route Planning
- Meteorology, Oceanography, Hydrography, Tides etc
Rule of the Road, Lights
Seamanship sail trim, heavy weather planning
Safety Equipment, regulations
Engines, generators
- Routine maintenance and planned maintenance
- Emergencies
During any movement of yachts, the following priorities are observed, in this order:
1. Safety of Personnel
2. Safety of the boat and equipment
3. Passage timetable
I’ll inspect the boat prior to sailing for safety compliance. Please send a recent survey – if you have one.
On completion – I’ll write a report detailing maintenance required, recommendations and advice. I am a qualified Small Boat Surveyor, but the report should not be considered a ‘survey’ as such, just a document to help you move forward to safer boating!
